UE GAME NOTES - OSU GAME NOTES

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville baseball team (7-6) concludes a three-game weekend series at Ohio State with a doubleheader on Sunday, March 15. The games will be played at Nick Swisher Field in Bill Davis Stadium.
 
This set will serve as the final weekend series tune-up for Evansville before they begin conference play next weekend against Dallas Baptist.

LAST TIME OUT
Evansville scored six runs in the seventh inning and held off an Ohio State late rally to beat the Buckeyes 10-9 on Saturday afternoon. Five Purple Aces batters tallied multi-hit games for Evansville. Starting pitcher Connor Strain (1-1) threw his third straight quality start to secure his first victory of the season.
 
WHAT'S BREWING WITH THE BUCKEYES?
Ohio State (8-5) began the year by winning three consecutive games then dropping four in a row. The Buckeyes four game winning streak was stopped on Saturday with the Aces' win in the series opener.
 
THE SERIES
The doubleheader will serve as the second and third games ever played between UE baseball and Ohio State. The Aces owna  1-0 edge in the series by way of a 10-9 victory on Saturday.
 
UE STATISTICALLY
Evansville is led offensively by outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski who is hitting .448 this season. Outfielder Korbin Williams and infielder Jonathan Ramon have a team-high two home runs this year. Outfielder Josh Jyawook has a team-best 15 hits and 12 runs batted in. Pitcher Brian Jestice leads all UE relievers with a 1.50 earned run average. Starters Brodie Harkness and Matt Rodgers are tied top the team's leaderboard with two wins each. The team is cumulatively hitting .260 this season with a 3.82 team ERA.
 
OHIO STATE STATISTICALLY
The Buckeyes have two players hitting over .300 with infielder Craig Nenning batting .364 and catcher Connor Sabanosh at .308. Outfielder Pat Porter owns a team-best nine runs batted in this season. Porter and outfielder Ronnie Dawson each have a team-high two home runs. Four Ohio State relievers have an earned run average of 3.00 or less. The team is hitting a combined .256 with a total 3.35 ERA.
 
WELCOME HOME
After what amounts to be 15 games away from Braun Stadium, the Aces are expected to have their first true home game on Wednesday, March 18 against Murray State. First pitch at Braun Stadium will be 6:00 p.m.
