Final Results
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Strong rounds across the board saw the University of Evansville men's golf team jump four spots in the final standings to take 11
th place in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.
All five Purple Aces posted rounds of 74 or lower in the final round, led by
Tyler Gray. The freshman posted a 3-under 69 en route to a tie for 24
th in the tournament. His 3-round total checked in at a 218.
Tying for 32
nd was the duo of
Alex Turner and
Will Knights. Turner recorded a 72 in the final round and finished with a 219. Knights also shot a 219 in the three rounds after his 74 on Tuesday. Next up was
Rick Voyvodic. His final round total of 72 saw him score a 224 for the event. That tied him for 51
st.
Wil Pahud had his best round of the week on Tuesday. An even 72 saw him wrap up the tournament with a 228.
Jacksonville State notched victories on the individual and team side. JSU earned a 9-shot victory over Southern Illinois and Murray State. Their 852 topped the Salukis' and Racers' total of 852. They shot the tournament low round of 277 as a team to clinch the victory.
Tomasz Anderson held on for a 4-stroke victory. He shot under par in each round, capped off with a 3-under 69 on Tuesday to take the win with a 205. His teammate – Pablo Torres – was second with a 209.
Next up for the men is the USI Evansville Challenge on March 28-29. Oak Meadow Country Club will play host to the event.
