Evansville, IN– The University of Evansville Women's Softball Team (7-19, 1-2 MVC) will head to UT Martin on Wednesday for a double header against the Skyhawks. Game one will start 3:00 p.m. CDT and game two is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
MVC play got underway this past week with the Aces taking on Loyola. The Aces started conference play 1-2. After dropping the first two against Loyola, they bounced back with a 3-2 walk off victory off a Danielle Freeman.
Freeman joined the Aces after finishing up her swimming season. Freeman has made it known she is back. In six games, Freeman is batting .450. She has nine hits in 20 at bats. Freeman has also homered 3 times, has two doubles, and seven RBIs in those six games.
Chandra Parr has played in all 26 games so far for the Aces. Parr is hitting .333 going 26-78 at the plate. Parr has four homeruns, six doubles, and a triple. Parr also has 11 RBIs. 46 total bases, and 22 runs scored for the Aces so far this season.
The Skyhawks come in with a 9-9 overall record. They have lost two in a row against Texas Tech and Utah Valley. On the mound, the Skyhawks are led by Brooke Kennedy who is 3-1 on the season with 1.33 ERA. At the plate, Carly Gonzales leads the way with a batting average of .410 with two homeruns and 12 RBIs. The Skyhawks take on Southeast Missouri the night before they play the Aces and it will be their first game in nine days. The link for live stats is provided below

The Aces were supposed to start have their first home games last weekend but due to field conditions and inclement weather the series against Loyola had to be moved to the Ballpark in Rosemont, IL. The Aces next home games are scheduled for March 28th and 29th when they take on Illinois State. The Aces are back in action this weekend when they take on the Drake Bulldogs in Des Moines.
