Purple Aces To Hold Senior Day, Host Missouri State on Saturday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
The University of Evansville women's basketball team (11-17, 6-11) concludes the Missouri Valley Conference regular season slate when the Purple Aces host the Missouri State Lady Bears on Saturday afternoon at the Ford Center. The tip is set for 2:00 p.m.
 
Evansville will also hold their Senior Day on Saturday, honoring guard Khristian Hart, forward Mallory Ladd and guard Kat Taylor.
 
The Aces enter this game after a home loss to Wichita State on Thursday night. UE guard Sara Dickey scored a team-high 16 points in the game. Ladd also had 12 points and six rebounds in the contest.  
 
On the stat sheet, Evansville's Dickey (19.2 points per game), forward Mallory Ladd (14.3) and Hart (10.0) are all averaging double figures. Dickey also has the most assists (66) as Hart has totaled a team-best with 48 steals for UE this year. Ladd is notching a team-high 0.9 blocks per game. Forward Sasha Robinson is securing 7.9 rebounds per game, a team-high. UE is averaging 61.9 points and 32.5 rebounds per game. The Aces make 39.9% of their field goals, 34.7% of threes, and 65.3% at the free throw line.
 
Missouri State (15-13, 12-5) have won seven straight games including a 65-56 victory at Indiana State on Friday night. Three Lady Bears scored double figures including 15 point performances from guards Lexi Hughes and Tyonna Snow.
 
Statistically, Missouri State also has three players averaging double figure points per game (Kenzie Williams 15.6,Snow 12.9, guard Liza Fruendt 10.0). Forward Hillary Chvatal leads all Lady Bears with 7.9 rebounds per game and 21 total blocks. Missouri State is averaging 66.0 points and 40.0 rebounds per game. The Lady Bears net 38.6% of their shots, 32.6% from beyond the arc and 67.6% from the charity stripe.  
 
Evansville is projected to finish fourth in the MVC preseason poll, their highest projection since 2008-2009. Dickey was also named to the preseason All-Conference team. The Aces are guided by fourth year head coach Oties Epps.
 
Missouri State was slated to finish sixth in the MVC preseason poll. The Lady Bears did not have anyone named to the preseason all-Conference team. Missouri State is led by second year head coach Kellie Harper.
 
The Lady Bears hold a 32-12 edge in the all-time series against UE. The Aces won the last meeting 65-56 at Missouri State on January 2. The victory marked the first win for Evansville at JQH Arena and second UR win in Springfield, Missouri.
