Box Score

Evansville, IN–
The University of Evansville Softball Team (9-33, 1-14 MVC) wrapped up their series against the Indiana State Sycamores on Sunday afternoon.  The Aces jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead over the Sycamores but in the end would come up short as the Sycamores defeated the Aces by a score of 7-4.  The win for the Sycamores completed the three game sweep over Evansville.

In the top of the first, the Aces got things going quickly when Chandra Parr homered scoring Michal Luckett.  Evansville followed that up with another run in the top of the second when Ashlee Kawall scored off a Courtney Land double.  The Sycamores got on the board in the bottom of the third when Ashley Dickerson score off a Aubre Carpenter single making the score 3-1 in favor of the Aces.

Indiana State would add two more runs in the bottom of the fourth off runs from Kelsey Montgomery and Brooke Riemenschneider.  In the bottom of the fifth, Megan Stone homered for the third time this series scoring Erika Crissman and making the score 5-3 in favor of the Sycamores.

Evansville was able to get one more run in the top of the sixth when Hayli Scott hit into a double play that still allowed Parr to score.  The Sycamores would add two more in the bottom of the sixth when Alexa Cavin scored off a wild pitch and Kassie Brown was able to score off a passed ball making the score 7-4 which would result in the final score of the game.

The Aces will be back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Southern Illinois Salukis in doubleheader action.  Games times are 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. CDT.  The doubleheader marks only the second time this season that the Aces have been at home.
