Third baseman Jonathan Ramon continues his season-long blog of the UE Baseball season, recapping the team's last week of games and the Aces' upcoming weekend series at Bradley:Good Morning Aces Fans! Hope everyone is very, very excited for this upcoming weekend!
Â
We are 5-1 in our last six games, dating back to last week. After winning two midweek contests, we took our momentum into the weekend at home against a quality opponent in South Alabama.
Â
After
losing game one on Friday night, we needed to win game two in order to still win the series. Due to inclement weather forecasted for Sunday, we moved the last game to Saturday – providing us, yet, another doubleheader!
Â
We came out with a sense of urgency and attacked the day. We came out with a
doubleheader sweep behind quality performances on the mound, and timely hitting in key situations. With us sweeping the day, we earned the series win over a tough Jaguars team.
Â
This series win was key for us in keeping our momentum heading in the right direction. We took this and continued to apply pressure in all facets of the game when we hosted Northern Kentucky at home.
Â
Wednesday night was a grind-out type of game. We managed to do whatever it took in order to keep us on top at night's end. We did a great job of applying pressure, absorbing it, and then reapplying it throughout the whole contest. This is how we earned a
9-6 win over NKU.
Â
This success sets up another important Missouri Valley
series at Bradley. The Braves are a very good team. First game is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday night, with a game on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday finale at 1 p.m.
Â
Lets keep this good feeling going!
Â
Aces fans, we will always appreciate your support wherever we travel. We continue to be grateful for all your support.
Â
Hope everyone can keep up with our games. If you are in the Peoria, Ill. area, come out and cheer us on!
Â
Have a great weekend everyone!
GO ACES!
