Evansville, IN –
The University of Evansville Softball Team (10-41, 2-19 MVC) headed to Wichita State this weekend to take on the Shockers.  Saturday featured a doubleheader with the Shockers taking both games.  Game one went final with a score of 6-2.  Game two ended in five innings with the Shockers taking the 8-0 win.

UE was able to jump to a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Chandra Parr scored off a Michal Luckett sacrifice fly.  Cacy Williams for the Shockers doubled in the bottom of third scoring two runs and then later scored herself making the score 3-1 in favor of the Shockers.

The Shockers then turned right around in the bottom of the fourth and added three more runs to increase their lead to 6-1.  The Aces were able to get one more when Luckett scored off a Abbi Fahse sacrifice fly making the score 6-2, which would be the final as the Shockers took the victory.

It took until the bottom of the third to get any scoring in game two.  Mackenzie Wright was finally able to get the Shockers a lead when she hit a two RBI single to make the score 2-0.  Wichita State then added another run in the bottom of the fifth off a solo homerun hit by Macklin Hitz.  Michelle Dixon followed that up with two run homer of her own to increase the Shockers lead to 5-0.  The Shockers then grabbed three more runs in the inning to secure the 8-0 victory.

Michal Luckett finished the day 2-4 at the plate for the Aces.  She also scored a run and had an RBI which accounts for both of the UE runs on the day.

The Aces and the Shockers will finish up their series with the start time set for 12:00 p.m. CDT.  The Aces will wrap up their regular season next weekend when they take on the Bradley Braves at home.
