EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville Athletics Department is proud to announce that the women's basketball team has received the Diversity of Inclusion at Work Award as part of the 22^nd Annual Student Leadership Awards Reception.
 
The Recipient of this award is given to a student organization, athletic team, or group that sponsored/participated in a program with the goal of providing diversity and social justice education through a campus event.
 
The team was nominated because of their involvement in making the 'Why I March," video as part of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. events.
 
According to UE Diversity and Equity Officer, LaNeeca Williams, "the team participated in the project and did a phenomenal job. The video was shown before the symbolic march on January 16, 2015. There was immense pride in showing the video and the caring comments made by team members."
 
The award was given by the Office of Diversity Initiatives.
