Evansville, IN –
The University of Evansville Softball Team (10-44, 2-22 MVC) opened up their final regular season series on Saturday with a doubleheader against the Bradley Braves.  Bradley was able to take both games from the Aces.  They won game one by a score 12-3 and game two by a score of 12-6.  The Aces honored seniors Abbi Fahse and Mariah Ferguson prior to the start of the doubleheader with a senior day ceremony.

Aces pitcher Amanda Blankenship struggled with her control in the top of the first of game one allowing the Braves to jump to a quick 4-0 lead over the Aces.  Evansville was finally able to get one back in the bottom of the third when Michal Luckett tripled to deep centerfield scoring Danielle Freeman to make the score 4-1 in favor of the Braves.

Bradley broke things open in the top of the fourth with seven more runs making the score 11-1.  The Aces were able to get two of those runs back in the bottom half of the inning when senior Mariah Ferguson scored off a Morgan Lambert single.  Senior Abbi Fahse was also able to score in the inning off a sacrifice fly by Courtney Land.  Bradley then grabbed another run in the top of the fifth off a wild pitch by Aces pitcher Samantha Fleming making the score 12-3 for the Braves, which would result in the contests final score.

Morgan Lambert finished game one going 2-2 at the plate and had an RBI for the Aces in game one.

Bradley again jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game two.  Chandra Parr got a run back for the Aces in the bottom of the first with a solo homerun to leftfield.  It was her ninth homerun of the season and brought the score to 3-1.  The Braves added two more runs in the top of the third to increase their lead to 5-1 over the Aces.

Ferguson was able to get an RBI in the bottom of the fourth when she singled to right field scoring Hayli Scott.  Courtney Land then scored for the Aces off of a wild pitch.  Ferguson added a run for the Aces when Mickaela Fleming grounded out to third.  Parr then doubled to center field tying the score at 5-5.  Bradley took the lead back in the top of the fifth when they score off a single making it 6-5.  The Aces were able to get a run from Courtney Land in the bottom of the fifth to make it 6-6 heading into the sixth inning.

The Braves were able to load the bases on Blankenship in the top of the sixth and then got a single scoring two and making the score 8-6 in favor of the Braves.  They then loaded the bases again and then got a double to score two more and make the score 10-6.  The Aces were then able to get out of the inning when they turned a triple play.  The play started when Land made a terrific catch in centerfield and after both Bradley runners advanced the Aces tagged second and third to complete the play.  Bradley got back to work in the top of the seventh when they added two more runs to increase their lead to 12-6.  12-6 would be the final as the Aces were unable to get anything going in the bottom half of the seventh.

Chandra Parr led the Aces in game two by going 2-4 at the plate with a homerun, a double, and two RBIs. Lambert finished the day with an overall average of .750 when she went 3-4 from the plate.  Fahse also had a big senior day going 2-3 with a run and an RBI.
