EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville head women's basketball coach
Oties Epps and his staff announced the signing of Camary Williams to a National Letter of Intent to begin play with the Purple Aces in the fall of 2015.
A Cape Coral, Fla. native, Williams is a transfer from Hillsborough Community College where she was the Freshman of the Year. In her sophomore season, she was the team's Most Valuable Player and also received the Joe Patton Award for being resilient, resourceful and reliable. Williams enters UE after averaging 16.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.2 assists per game.
"We are very excited to add Camary to our Aces family," said Evansville head coach Oties Epps. "She is perhaps the fastest player that I have ever seen with and without the ball. She excels in the open court and she has the ability and versatility to shoot the 3 pointer and get to the rim. We expect Camary to make an immediate impact both on and off the court. Our fans will really enjoy watching her play."
At Cape Coral High School, Williams competed for four years in both basketball and track and field. She was the MVP of both teams during his senior year. Williams was also All-Area Honorable Mention as a junior in basketball. Additionally, she was All-Area Honorable Mention in track and field during her junior season and was also a three year state qualifier.
Williams joins five new players from the Purple Aces' fall signing period including high-school standouts Jordan Campbell (Montgomery, Ill. / Oswego), Camille Coleman (South Bend, Ind. / South Bend Washington), Kerri Gasper (Olmsted Township, Ohio/ Olmsted Falls), Tattenai Hall (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Heritage), and Erin Sinnott (Oswego, Ill. / Oswego).
