EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's soccer team (1-5) starts a home weekend by playing Belmont University (1-3) on Friday, Sept. 11. The match will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium and start at 7:00 p.m.
PROMOTION - MILITARY APPRECIATION / WOUNDED WARRIOR NIGHTUE women's soccer will be holding a Military Appreciation / Wounded Warrior Night on Friday evening. All military, current or retired, will receive free admission, with a valid ID, for themselves and a guest. Additional family tickets may be purchased for $5 each.
WHAT TO KNOW- UE is looking to record their first win since a Aug. 30, 2-1 victory over Miami (Ohio).
- Freshman forward Sara Osinski and sophomore defender Olivia Shafer lead the Purple Aces with two goals each.
- Evansville looks to maintain their perfect home record against Belmont (4-0).
THE OPPONENTBelmont won their season opener 1-0 against Little Rock (Aug. 23) but have suffered three straight losses since (Indiana State, Wright State, Valparaiso). The Bruins have 14 returners from last year but only six starters. Belmont has just three goals this season, from three different scorers. The team also has only allowed six goals.
LAST TIME OUTEvansville suffered a 2-1 road setback at Butler on Sunday, Sept. 6. Junior midfielder
Colleen Dierkes scored her first goal of the season (second career) in the defeat.
THE COACHESUE is led by eighth year head coach
Krista McKendree, a four year standout with the Purple Aces and the only All-American in UE women's soccer history.
Belmont is guided by fifth year head coach Heather Henson.
HISTORYEvansville leads Belmont 6-2 in the all-time series. The Aces seek their third straight win over the Bruins.

TALE OF TWO HALVESEvansville has outscored their opponents 6-3 in the first half this season but are being outpaced 8-1 after halftime this season. Last year, Evansville allowed just 10 total second half goals.
NATIONAL HONORSenior goalkeeper
Simone Busby missed the team's first two games competing for the Guyana National Team in CONCACAF Qualifying. They won 8-0 over St. Kitts and Nevis and then tied Cuba 1-1. Guyana advanced to the next round over Cuba on goal differential.
UP FOR THE CHALLENGEEvansville will play three teams that completed last season in the RPI Top 100. Those opponents are Illinois State (32), Miami (Ohio) (58), and Vanderbilt (96).
UPCOMING PROMOTIONSThe annual Multiple Sclerosis match with Homecoming is on Sat., Sept. 26. Senior Day festivities are set for Thurs., Oct. 29.
HOSTING THE CHAMPIONSHIPEvansville is hosting the 2015 MVC Women's Soccer Championship this year. The semifinals will take place on Fri., Nov. 6 with the Championship match to take place on Sun., Nov. 8. All matches will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville, Ind.
