UE GAME NOTES
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville women's soccer team (2-7-1) begins Missouri Valley Conference play with a match against Loyola (5-3-2) on Saturday, Sept. 26. The contest will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium and begin at 3:00 p.m. CDT.

WHAT TO KNOW- This is the team's annual Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Match.
- The Purple Aces were picked first in the MVC Preseason Coaches Poll.
- UE is looking to end a two-game losing streak.
- Both of UE's wins this season have taken place at home.
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS MATCHThe Aces will be wearing orange for their annual MS match on Saturday. Fans are also encouraged to wear orange.
The team will be retiring these orange jerseys at the end of the season and there will be a silent auction for them on Saturday with some of the proceeds going to the Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis Association. The Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis Association's mission is to Enhance the quality of life for individuals living with MS and their families throughout Southern Indiana, Western Kentucky, and Southern Illinois. They make every effort to facilitate their needs, whether it is an assisting device, medication, or other special considerations. There are seven active support groups, a monthly newsletter, an annual family weekend, an adult weekend away in Evansville, two annual autumn walks, numerous educational programs, and many more fundraising events, all of which help over 1,400 families in the tri-state area.

There will be a soccer doubleheader on Saturday, Sept. 26, as the women's team hosts Loyola at 3:00 p.m. CDT and the men's team plays Drake at 6:00 p.m. Festivities include a Forever Purple Carnival, a yard sale, on field recognitions (Hall of Fame coaches Mick Lyon and Fred Schmalz, members of the 1985 and 1990 NCAA Final Four teams), and the first-ever fireworks show on the UE campus.
THE OPPONENTLoyola started the season 2-0-1 before suffering back to back losses against Eastern Michigan and Wisconsin. The Ramblers have then rebounded by going 3-1-1 over their final five matches.
LAST TIME OUTUE fell 2-1 at Vanderbilt (Sept. 20). Senior midfielder
Caitie Dierkes tallied the lone goal, the first of her career. Junior midfielder
Bronwyn Boswell led all players with four shots (three on goal).
THE COACHESEvansville is led by eighth year head coach
Krista McKendree, a four year standout with the Purple Aces and the only All-American in UE women's soccer history.
Loyola's head coach is Barry Bimbi, in his fifth season.
HISTORYLoyola leads the all-time series with Evansville 3-1-1. UE is 1-2 at home against the Ramblers.

LEADING OFFBoswell leads all Purple Aces with three goals, two assists, eight points, 28 shots, 12 shots on goal and one game winning goal this season. Senior midfielder
Allie Arguello, and freshman midfielder
Molly Lear also have a team-best two assists each. Senior goalkeeper
Simone Busby has the lowest GAA (1.11) and highest saves percentage (.778) on the Aces this season.
IN THE CLASSROOMUE women's soccer received an NSCAA College Team Academic Award (Sept. 23) for their 3.47 GPA in the 2014-15 academic year. This is their ninth straight year receiving the honor and 11th overall.
WHAT AN HONORBoswell was named MVC Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 15) for her two goal game vs. IUPUI. This is the first Player of the Week honor in her collegiate career.
TALE OF TWO HALVESEvansville is outscoring their opponents 7-6 in the first half but being outpaced 10-3 after halftime.
GOOD BEHAVIORThe Purple Aces have not received a yellow or red card this season.
WE'RE NUMBER ONEThe UE women's soccer team was ranked #1 in the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference preseason coach's poll. The Aces will look to unseat back to back champion Illinois State for the title this year. Boswell, Busby, and sophomore forward

NATIONAL HONORBusby missed the team's first two games competing for the Guyana National Team in CONCACAF Qualifying. They won 8-0 over St. Kitts and Nevis and then tied Cuba 1-1. Guyana advanced to the next round over Cuba on goal differential.
UP FOR THE CHALLENGEEvansville will play three teams that completed last season in the RPI Top 100. Those opponents are Illinois State (32), Miami (Ohio) (58), and Vanderbilt (96).
HOSTING THE CHAMPIONSHIPEvansville is hosting the 2015 MVC Women's Soccer Championship this year. The semifinals will take place on Fri., Nov. 6 with the Championship match to take place on Sun., Nov. 8. All matches will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville, Ind.
