WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's soccer team (1-3-0) starts their weekend on the road at Purdue University (3-1-0) on Friday, Sept. 3. The match will be held at Boilermaker Soccer Complex and begin at 6:00 p.m. CDT.
WHAT TO KNOW- This is the first weekend of multiple road games for Evansville
- Freshman forward Sara Osinski and sophomore defender Olivia Shafer lead the Purple Aces with two goals each
- UE is looking for their first win ever against Purdue
THE OPPONENTThe Boilermakers won their first three matches of the season (Ohio, Xavier, Baylor) before losing their last contest 3-2 in double overtime against Missouri in the Montana Cup.
LAST TIME OUTEvansville scored twice in the first 20 minutes, and held off a late Miami University (2-2-0) comeback for a 2-1 win on Aug. 30. Osinski and Shafer each scored in the contest as UE claimed their first victory of the season.
THE COACHESEvansville is led by eighth year head coach
Krista McKendree (54-65-17), a four year standout with the Purple Aces and the only All-American in UE women's soccer history. Purdue is guided by first year head coach Drew Roff (3-1-0), who previously was the head coach at Illinois State (2007-2014) in the Missouri Valley Conference.
HISTORYThe Aces are 0-3-0 against the Boilermakers. The teams have never met in Evansville.
WE'RE NUMBER ONEThe UE women's soccer team was ranked #1 in the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference preseason coach's poll. The Aces will look to unseat back to back champion Illinois State for the title this year. Junior midfielder

TALE OF TWO HALVESEvansville has outscored their opponents 6-1 in the first half this season but are being outpaced 7-0 after halftime this season. Last year, Evansville allowed just 10 total second half goals.
NATIONAL HONORSenior goalkeeper
Simone Busby missed the team's first two games competing for the Guyana National Team in CONCACAF Qualifying. They won 8-0 over St. Kitts and Nevis and then tied Cuba 1-1. Guyana advanced to the next round over Cuba on goal differential.
UP FOR THE CHALLENGEEvansville will play three teams that completed last season in the RPI Top 100. Those opponents are Illinois State (32), Miami (Ohio) (58), and Vanderbilt (96).
UPCOMING PROMOTIONSThe Aces have a Military Appreciation / Wounded Warrior game with Belmont on Fri., Sept. 11. The annual Multiple Sclerosis match with Homecoming is on Sat., Sept. 26. Senior Day festivities are set for Thurs., Oct. 29.
HOSTING THE CHAMPIONSHIPEvansville is hosting the 2015 MVC Women's Soccer Championship this year. The semifinals will take place on Fri., Nov. 6 with the Championship match to take place on Sun., Nov. 8. All matches will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville, Ind.
