ST. LOUIS – For the fifth time this season, Purple Aces senior Egidijus Mockevicius has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week.
 
The nation's leading rebounder kept it going as the Aces earned a pair of MVC victories to improve to 16-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play.  In a home win over Drake, Mockevicius downed 9 of his 12 shots to finish with 21 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. 
 
He followed that up with a 13-point, 20-rebound effort at Illinois State in 38 minutes of action as he passed Jerry Sloan for second on the all-time UE rebounding list.  For the week, he averaged 17 points and 16 rebounds while hitting 73.7% of his attempts.  Mockevicius also averaged an impressive 36.5 minutes in the two wins.
 
Mockevicius and the Aces are back at the Ford Center on Tuesday evening to face Loyola in an 8 p.m. game.
