EVANSVILLE, Ind. – 2016 Mid-American Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Championships begins this Wednesday in Ypsilanti, Michigan, running through Saturday.
Events on Wednesday evening begin at 7 p.m. ET with the finals of the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay. Preliminary rounds take place at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Final rounds of action on Thursday and Friday begin at 7 p.m. ET while Saturday's final day of action begins at 5 p.m.

Last year in Geneva, Ohio, the Purple Aces finished in 6
th place ahead of Ball State, their best finish in thirteen years. The top scorers were Troy Burger coming in 12
th in the 200 Breastroke, Daniel O'Brien with 11
th in the 100 Butterfly, and Ethan O'Rourke with a 14
th place 200 Backstroke.
Evansville's men were last in action on February 6
th in a dual meet in Carbondale, Ill. as the Aces faced rival Southern Illinois.
O'Rourke had a strong day, taking 4
th in the 50 free, swimming a 22.04. Matt Childress was just behind him with a 22.32 to take 5
th.
O'Rourke combined with Jared Sutphin, Childress, and Everett Plocek to take second in the 200 free relay.
Diving excelled on Saturday as Cory Barnes picked up two victories. In the 1-meter dive, he won with a score of 249.60 while his 3-meter victory was a 223.05.
