EVANSVILLE – Another Vincennes standout will be making the short trek down the road to the University of Evansville as interim head women's basketball coach Matt Ruffing announced the signing of Lady Trailblazer guard Marley Miller on Wednesday.
"We're excited to welcome Marley and her family into our program," Ruffing said. "I think she's going to be a great addition, both on and off the court. She goes about doing things the right way, and I can't wait to welcome her to campus."
Miller, who teamed with fellow Aces signee Brooke Dossett last season, will enter UE after averaging 9.4 points and 2.3 rebounds this past year. She played just one season with Vincennes, helping the team to a 29-6 record, and the 5-foot-6 guard will begin playing for the Aces as a sophomore in 2016-17.
"Marley will really help bolster our 2-guard spot," Ruffing explained. "With her play on both ends of the court, she will add some needed depth for us and raise the level of competition at that position. It's going to be exciting to see how that plays out."
Miller, who joined VU from East Richland High School in Olney, Ill., starred as a junior for the Lady Tigers, averaging 15.7 points per game while racking up totals of 101 rebounds, 53 steals and 51 assists. However, her senior campaign was ultimately cut short due to an unfortunate injury.
The 2016-17 UE women's basketball season will begin in the fall.
