EVANSVILLE, Ind. - At its home event, the University of Evansville men's and women's cross country teams each closed the regular season with top five finishes at the UE Invitational at Angel Mounds State Historic Site in Evansville.
"Pretty certain we had some PRs in there (in the women's 5k) and we gave it all we had on this day," said Aces' men's and women's cross country head coach Don Walters. "Lipscomb is good. They'll be at the national championships. We went after them. We weren't scared of them. We went after them and sometimes you pay the price when you do that, but I thought we had a good race overall."
"We did what we had to do there (in the men's 8k). We had a lot of guys that had PRs, Stanley (Chepchieng) had a PR," said Walters. "When you come out here day in and day out and you go to meet and you keep setting PRs, that's all I can ask."
