EVANSVILLE, Ind. - A familiar opponent returns to Arad McCutchan Stadium on Tuesday evening when the University of Evansville men's soccer team plays host to SIUE for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
The Purple Aces are coming off two victories last week opening with a 1-0 win over Lipscomb in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday and earning an important 2-1 triumph over Drake on Saturday. In Evansville's 2-1 win over the Bulldogs, junior Simon Waever contributed a pair of assists to freshman Logan Muck and and sophomore Adam Snow as the Aces scored in the 89th minute to grab the conference victory. UE's win pushed the Aces overall record to 3-5-5 and gives Evansville a 1-1-1 mark in the MVC.

On Tuesday evening, Evansville and SIUE will renew their series for the 20th time as the Cougars hold a 10-6-3 advantage in the all-time series. In the last meeting between the two sides, SIUE earned a 2-1 win over the Aces on November 11, 2016 in Springfield, Mo. in the semifinals of the 2016 MVC Men's Soccer Tournament. The Aces have seen recent success over the Cougars in matches played at Arad McCutchan Stadium, where UE is 5-2-2 all-time against SIUE. Heading into the weekend, the Cougars hold a 9-1-3 overall record and are 1-0-1 in MAC action. Offensively, SIUE is powered by a pair of potent goal-scorers in Lachlan McLean and Jorge Gonzalez who have combined to score 16 goals in 2018. In goal, Noah Heim has played and started all 13 matches for SIUE, holding a 0.94 goals-against average, while tallying 40 saves in 1,245 minutes between the posts.
Tuesday evening's match is Student Organization Night and UE student organizations are invited to attend the match.
