TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - On a cold morning in Terre haute, Ind.. the University of Evansville men's and women's cross country teams turned in impressive performances in the NCAA Great Lakes District Regional at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Evansville's women's team finished 30 amongst the 32-team field with 886 points and an average time of 24:29 in the six kilometer race. For the Aces' men's team, UE earned a 28th-place finish out of 29 teams, amassing 896 points and an average time of 35:27 in the 10 kilometer competition.
Earning top billing for the Aces for the seventh-time this season, sophomore Anna Lowry led the way for Evansville with an 88th-place finish in the regional. Lowry crossed the finish line in a time of 22:19, beating her 6k PR by 2:58, finishing third among Missouri valley Conference runners in the race.
Finishing second and third for Evansville were seniors Ashton Bosler and Sienna Crews, who finished in 193rd and 196th respectively. Bosler recorded a new 6k PR with a time of 24:19, while Crews came in just seconds after her teammate in a time of 24:31.
In the first NCAA regional of her collegiate career, freshman Haylee Harmeyer set a PR with a time of 25:02, earning Harmeyer a 207th-place finish. Behind Harmeyer was sophomore Lauren Meyer, earning a 218th-place finish, crossing the line in a time of 26:14.
A pair of underclassmen finished back-to-back for Evansville as sophomore Izzy Dawson and freshman Katelyn Singh recorded 220th and 221st-place finishes, respectively. Separated by just five seconds, Dawson finished in a time of 26:28, while Singh collected a PR with a time of 26:33.
As a team, Evansville topped fellow MVC side Valparaiso and Horizon League member Green Bay at the regional

Leading the way for Evansville, sophomore Dawson Hood paced the Aces' men's team with a 172nd-place finish. Hood captured a 10k PR, crossing the finish line in a time of 34:59, besting his previous PR by 48 seconds.
Finishing in a group of three in 182nd, 185th, and 186th, respectively, were senior Jordan Carpenter, junior Stanley Chepchieng, and sophomore Kalen Ochs. The three finished just 10 seconds apart with Carpenter finishing with a 10k PR time of 35:23, Chepchieng crossing the line in a time of 35:31, and Ochs tallying a 10k PR time of 35:33.
The next finished for the Aces was junior Ricky Hendrix who crossed the line in 192nd-place. Just behind the pack of Evansville runners, Hendrix finished the 10k race with a time of 35:50.
Securing the final PR of the morning was freshman Carson Kline, finishing in 197th. In the 10k race, Kline earned a new PR in a time of 37:00.
