EVANSVILLE, Ind. - With the holidays drawing closer, the University of Evansville women's basketball team welcomes Austin Peay into Meeks Family Fieldhouse at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in Evansville's final home game of 2018.
The Purple Aces return home after falling to Dayton on the road 69-30 on Saturday evening. Building an early advantage, Evansville outscored the Flyers, 16-3, taking a 13-point advantage with 3:31 remaining in the first quarter. Dayton responded with an 11-0 run to close the period, cutting its deficit to just two points at the end of the first quarter. The run continued for Dayton who moved in front and took a 34-21 lead at the break in route to the Flyers' 69-30 win.

Game Notes
Senior Kerri Gasper has continued to produce strong performances for the Aces, just missing a double-double against Dayton. Gasper scored nine points and tied a career-high with 12 rebounds, marking the second-straight game that Gasper has recorded double-digit rebounds and the fourth contest this season that the senior has finished with double-figure rebounds. Averaging 35 minutes per game, Gasper and a pair of her senior teammates in Marley Miller and Brooke Bishop have stayed out of foul trouble which has helped allow the three seniors to play extended minutes. All three are averaging less that three fouls per game, led by Miller with 1.2 fouls per contest.
Evansville and Austin Peay are meeting for the 20th time in series history on Tuesday evening with the Governors owning an 11-8 advantage in the all-time series. The two sides last met last season on Dec. 2, 2017 as Austin Peay earned an 82-763 win over the Aces in Clarksville, Tenn.. As of late, Evansville has seen success in the series, capturing four of the last five games between the two, including four-straight wins from 2006 to 2016. Austin Peay enters Tuesday's game with a 5-5 record and is coming off a 75-58 win over Alabama A&M on Sunday, December 9. On the season, the Governors are led by three double-figures scorers, including Arielle Gonzalez-Varner (12.5 points per game), Keisha Gregory (11.3), and Brianah Ferby (10.1).
