EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville men's and women's track and field teams head to Terre Haute, Ind. for the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday through Sunday, hosted by Indiana State.
Evansville is coming off a strong outdoor season that saw 11 program records set. The last time out for the Purple Aces, UE broke two program records, both coming on the women's side, at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville, Ky. One of the best performances of the invitational came with freshman Anna Lowry's run in the women's 1500 meters. Lowry's time of 4:56.71 bested teammate Sienna Crews' time by over two seconds giving Lowry her second program record of the outdoor season.

The three-day MVC meet opens up on Friday morning with the decathlon and heptathlon, while events in the field begin at noon with the women's hammer throw, followed by the men's hammer throw at 2 p.m.. Action on the track begins at 6 p.m. with the women's 1500 meter run with the men's 1500 meter run following.
On Saturday, competition in field events begins with women's shot put at 3 p.m., while track competition opens with the women's 100 meter hurdles at 5 p.m. and men's 110 meter hurdles at 5:10 p.m..
The final day of competition on Sunday is highlighted by the men's and women's triple jump, discus throw, and men's pole vault in the field with track events beginning with the men's and women's 4x100 meter relays. Competition at the MVC Championships closes on Sunday with the men's and women's 4x400 meter relays followed by recognition for graduating seniors and the awards presentation.
