Aces Break Two Program Records at Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The University of Evansville track & field team completed action at the Gibson Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by two program records and a first place finish in the 800 meters by Rafael Rodriguez (Segovia, Spain/Colegio Claret).

Women 
Chase Hayes (Noblesville, Ind./Western) notched a top 10 finish in the 1500 meters, placing ninth at 4:45.67 to pace four Aces. Avery Stephens (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) picked up a personal best of 4:54.14 to place 22nd.
 
Evansville set a program record in the 4x100 meter relay, as the team of Mya Baker (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville), Tristen Thomas (York, Pa./West York), Josie Seehafer (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan) and Taylor Johnson (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) notched a program record time of 48.81 to finished sixth. In the 4x400 meter relay, Evansville's team of Seehafer, Hayes, Johnson and Amick McClelland (Quincy, Ill./Quincy) took fifth at 4:11.95.
 
Thomas also competed in the 100 meters, placing 38th with a time of 12.91. In the 200 meters, Johnson led three Aces with a 16th place finish at 25.42. Johnson reset her own program record in the 400 meters, taking fifth with a time of 56.49. In the 800 meters, Hayes paced three Aces with a time of 2:24.41 to place 15th.
 
Thomas also took part in the triple jump, placing 24th with a mark of 9.97 meters.
 
In the shot put, Emma Bertel (Franklin, Ind./Franklin Community) placed 26th with a mark of 10.23 meters. Bertel also took part in discus and recorded a personal best of 38.38 meters to finish 13th.

Men
In the 110 meter hurdles, Josiah Hoehn (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) led three Aces with a personal best time of 15.32 to place 18th. Hoehn also paced the Aces in the 100 meter dash with another personal best of 10.99, good for 32nd.
 
Tommaso Losma (Lombardia, Italy./Liceo Scientifico David Maria Turoldo, Zogno (Bg)) led four Aces in the 1500 meters with a top 10 finish, coming in with a time of 4:00.63.
 
Rodriguez took home a first place finish for the second week in a row, winning the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.94. Jake Antibus (Switz City, Ind./White River Valley) also had a strong showing in the 800 meters, taking 14th with a time of 1:57.77.
 
In the 400 meters, Myles Terry (Evansville, Ind./North) placed 46th at 52.87. Hoehn and Terry both finished inside the top 30 of the 200 meters, placing 20th and 28th at 22.30 and 22.48, respectively.  
 
Tristin DeTalente (Evansville, Ind./North) secured a personal best in the 400 meter hurdles, taking 29th with a time of 1:02.03.

Drew Aaron (Mount Vernon, Ind./Mount Vernon) was the lone Ace to compete in shot put and placed 23rd with a mark of 11.89 meters. Cole Johnson (Salem, Ill./Salem Community) placed 23rd in discus, posting a mark of 39.39 meters.
