Box Score CHARLESTON, Ill. - After falling behind by a goal late in the opening half, the University of Evansville pushed back and earned a 1-1 draw with Eastern Illinois on Friday evening in Charleston, Ill..

In an evenly contested first half, the Purple Aces and Panthers each tallied three shots with UE owning a slim 2-1 advantage on corner kicks. EIU grabbed the lead in the 43rd minute as Christian Sosnowski scored in the final moments of the first 45 minutes to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead at the halftime break.

Coming out of the half, Evansville was the aggressor, holding the majority of possession in the second half. UE's persistence paid off in the 75th minute as freshman Ryan Harris was brought down inside the box. With the Aces awarded a penalty, junior Jesse Stafford-Lacey calmly scored, tying the match at a goal each.

Evansville out-shot the Panthers, 6-0, in the second frame, with all six Aces' shots coming on-goal. Despite the push forward and increased possession, UE was unable to find the game-winner in regulation. In the first and second overtimes, EIU tallied four shots, forcing Aces' junior Frederik Reimer to make three saves as Evansville kept EIU off the board in overtime in route to a 1-1 tie.

Sophomore Adam Snow and juniors Jesse Stafford-Lacey and Ben Weber led Evansville with two shots each as Snow recorded a pair on-goal. Between the posts, Reimer made four saves in 110 minutes of action, while allowing one goal on the evening.

For the first time since August 19, Evansville plays a match at Arad McCutchan Stadium as the Aces host IUPUI at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Sunday's match is Youth Soccer Day at McCutchan Stadium. By wearing their youth team jersey, children 12 and under will receive complimentary admission to Sunday's match as well as the opportunity to participate in a pre-match clinic with the Aces' men's soccer team.
