EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Fresh off a 1-0 overtime victory over No. 24 Grand Canyon, the University of Evansville men's soccer team takes to the road to face Northern Kentucky at 6 p.m. (CT) in Highland Heights, Ky..
On Friday evening, Evansville hosted a unanimously ranked GCU squad that started the season 2-0 with a pair of wins over ranked opponents. 90 minutes was not enough to separate the two sides as the evenly-contested match spilled into overtime. As the closing minute of the first overtime period approached, the Aces found their breakthrough. Junior Frederik Reimer sent a kick from inside the box on its way that freshman Logan Muck headed on. Junior Ben Weber found the ball at his feet and made a run, slipping past a defender and scoring to give Evansville the 1-0 overtime win.

Tuesday's match is the fourth meeting all-time between the Aces and Norse. In the previous three matches, Evansville is 3-0, winning by a combined score of 8-1. Both teams did battle at Arad McCutchan Stadium last season with the Aces grabbing a 2-1 win. The only previous meeting of the two teams in Highland Heights, Ky. took place on August 28, 2016 as UE earned a 2-0 victory. The Norse head into Tuesday's match with a 4-1 record after suffering their first loss of the season on Saturday against conference foe Wright State. On the season, NKU has scored 12 goals in five matches, showcasing a potent Norse offense. NKU is led by Alex Willis who has recorded six goals and three assists on the season. Between the posts, redshirt senior Jim Barkei has played and started all five matches this season for the Norse, making 23 saves and tallying a 1.72 goals-against average.
