Box Score HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Back on the road for their fourth road match this season, the University of Evansville created scoring chances, but could not convert in a 3-0 loss to Northern Kentucky on Tuesday evening in Highland Heights, Ky..
"Credit to NKU tonight they were very effective on their home field getting in behind us and creating chances," said Aces men's soccer head coach Marshall Ray. "It was an even match up until the 30th minute or so. We had some chances early that we could have finished and had one off the crossbar in the first half. Defensively, we just weren't good enough in the box. Realistically, should have been a little bit more clinical with the chances we created. It's a game that was even as far as number of shots. We've got to do better at putting our shots on frame and giving ourselves opportunities. We can't concede the goals the way we did tonight. Credit to NKU. Now we've got to get home and get prepared to go on the road on Saturday and play Mercer on Sunday."
Just past the opening 15 minutes of the first half, Evansville recorded its first chance as junior Ben Weber sent a shot from inside the 18 that just slipped over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, the Norse got on the board as Connor Probert found the back of the net after dribbling through the 18. After a foul was committed by NKU inside the 18 in the 39th minute, Evansville received a free kick from the edge of the six-yard box, but the shot that followed sailed high.

Five minutes into the second half, NKU scored its second goal as Alex Willis had the ball played through to him in the box and finished into the back of the net. Evansville produced a string of chances again beginning in the 58th minute as freshman Ryan Harris had a header that was saved and freshman Logan Muck clipped a shot in that was saved, followed by a shot by Weber that was finally corralled by the Norse. As the clock ticked inside the final 10 minutes of regulation, Northern Kentucky recorded its third goal of the match with Calvin Murphy scoring off an assist by Alex Greive and Tom Suchecki as the Norse grabbed the 3-0 win.
Weber led the way for UE with three shots on the evening, while sophomore Adam Snow tallied two, putting one on-goal for Evansville. In goal for the Aces, junior Frederic Reimer made one save, allowing three goals, while facing nine shots in the loss.
A week of two road matches continues for Evansville as the Aces travel to Macon, Ga. to face Mercer at 1 p.m. (CT) on Sunday afternoon.
