Women's Basketball hosts UNI to open three-game homestand

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Beginning a three-game homestand, the University of Evansville women's basketball team welcomes UNI into Meeks Family Fieldhouse at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening.

Last Game: Valparaiso 93, Evansville 49 (Valparaiso, Ind., Jan. 20)
  • Evansville dropped a road contest at Valparaiso, 93-49, on Sunday afternoon.
  • Finding its rhythm midway through the opening quarter, Valpo finished the contest shooting 58.3% (35-60) from the field and 45.8% (11-24) from three, while the Aces shot 29.4% (15-51) from the field and 26.1% (6-23) from beyond the arc. 
  • Closing the game, Evansville gained some momentum, out-scoring Valparaiso, 14-11, in the fourth quarter.
  • Seven different Aces finished with six or more points in Sunday's contest at Valpo.
  • Senior Brooke Bishop and freshman Sydney Tucker paced Evansville with nine points each in the loss.
  • Scoring her first collegiate points on Friday at Loyola, Tucker set a career-high with nine points and three rebounds against Valparaiso.
  • Continuing to fill the stat sheet, freshman Makayla Wallace scored six points, while recording five rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals.
  • Of Evansville's 30 rebounds, nine came on the offensive end, which the Aces converted into nine points.

Next Opponent: vs. UNI

  • Evansville and UNI are meeting for the 54th time in series history.
  • In the last meeting between the two sides, the Panthers earned an 85-60 win over Evansville on Feb. 11, 2018 in Evansville, Ind..
  • The Aces are looking for their first win in the series with UNI since Feb. 8, 2014 when UE captured a 59-50 win over the Panthers at the Ford Center.
  • UNI has won the last nine meetings in the series and 20 of the last 21.
