OWENSBURO, Ken. – The University of Evansville men's and women's cross country teams showed strong performances at the Fast Cats Classic, Saturday morning.
 
The women's squad finished in second place overall with three top-20 finishes, led by Anna Lowry. On the men's side, the Aces took fifth place with 130 points.
 
Lowry led the field with a first place 17:43.09 time, second fastest course time and 36 seconds faster than the next runner.
 
Jenna Fehrenbacher came in next for the Aces with a 19:19.70 15^th place finish, while Bones Parker took 20^th place on a 19:31.26 time.
 
Izzy Dawson (19:41.10) and Sarah Poltrack (19:51.33) rounded out the Aces scoring five with 30^th and 33^rd place finishes respectively.
 
Dawson Hood paced the men's side with a season best 26:12.04 8K, finishing in seventh. Ricky Hendrix took 20^th overall on a 26:30.05 personal best time, while Stanley Chepcheing ran the 8K in 26:54.67.
 
Kalen Ochs and Phil Dzienciol took 37^th and 47^th place respectively, rounding out UE's scoring lineup.
 
Evansville will be back in action for the UE Invitational, hosted at the Angel Monds State Park on Oct. 19.
