EVANSVILLE – For the second time this week, the University of Evansville men's soccer team faces a ranked opponent, this time traveling to Springfield, Mo. to face No. 10 Missouri State at 5 PM on Saturday evening.

- The scoring for the Hoosiers got started early as the home team found the back of the net in the first minute on a goal by Spencer Glass.
- In the 10th minute, Indiana added it's second of the night as Victor Bezerra tallied a goal from the edge of the six.
- The Hoosiers scores their third goal of the evening in the 30th minute as A.J. Palazzolo slipped one into the back of the net off assists by Joshua Penn and Simon Weaver.
- Evansville opened the second half with a renewed aggressiveness. The Aces found possession in the attacking third in the 63rd minute as junior Filip Johansson clipped the ball past a defender and beat his man to the end line. Johansson sent the ball across the face of goal where an Ace was brought down, earning Evansville a penalty kick. Senior Jesse Stafford-Lacely stepped to the spot and converted the penalty for his fourth goal of the season.
- Over the final 25 minutes of the match, Indiana increased its lead with a pair of goals as the Hoosiers secured a 5-1 win.
Previewing the Matchup
- Evansville and Missouri State are meeting for the 35th time in the series history with the Bears holding a 20-10-4 advantage in the series.
- The Bears and Aces last met on Oct. 5 when Missouri State captured a 4-0 victory over Evansville.
- The last time the two sides met in Springfield, Missouri State picked up a narrow 1-0 win on Sept. 23, 2017.
- Evansville is in search of its first win in Springfield since a 2-1 Aces' win at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium on Oct. 29, 2016.
- The Aces are in search of their first win since a 1-0 victory over UNC Asheville on Sept. 22. The last road win for Evansville came in a 4-3 victory over Bradley on Nov. 3, 2018 in the regular season finale.
- Missouri State enters Saturday's matchup as the only undefeated and untied team in the nation with a 12-0 record.
- For the Bears, transfer Matthew Bentley has fueled the Missouri State offense, scoring eight goals in 12 matches this season, including two in the Aces-Bears matchup earlier this month.
- In goal for the Bears, Michael Creek has been one of the steadiest keepers in the nation, allowing just 0.42 goals per match this year.
