Lowry Finishes Top-Five at MVC Championships

VALPARAISO, Ind. --
The University of Evansville men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference cross country championships hosted by Valparaiso, Saturday morning.
 
Highlighting the day for the Purple Aces was Anna Lowry, running an 18:22.2 fifth place time, Lowry once again wrote herself into the record books. The junior earned all-conference honors as well as becoming only the second Ace on the women's side to finish in the top-5 at the league championship.
 
Sarah Poltrack took 61st overall at a 20:40 time, while Bones Parker finished just behind in 62nd at 20:40.8. Haylee Harmeyer (21:29) and Izzy Dawson (21:39) took 70th and 71st respectively.
 
Dawson Hood led the way for the Aces on the men's side with a 50th place finish at 27:13.4.
 
Ricky Hendrix (28:30) and Kalen Ochs (28:34) followed with 58th and 60th place finishes respectively.
 
Phil Dzienciol and Alton Hoops round out the Aces top five finishes with 62nd and 63rd place finishes.
 
The Aces will next head to the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals on Nov. 15 in Madison, Wi.
