EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Three games in three days await the University of Evansville men's basketball team when the Purple Aces travel to the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase this weekend in Nassau, Bahamas.

Evansville opens play on Friday evening with a 7 p.m. CT game against East Carolina. UE will face Kansas City or George Washington on Saturday with potential Sunday opponents being Morgan State, Liberty, Milwaukee or Rice. FloSports will have the broadcast for all three games; visit FloSports.com for more information. Each game will be played at the Baha Mar Resort; game times and opponents will be known following each contest.

"We are going to have to watch our minutes so we do not tire guys out," Aces head coach Walter McCarty said. "Marcus, Thomas, Devan - guys who do not play a lot of minutes will have that opportunity. We are going down there to win basketball games. That is our objective. We do not want to settle for anything less than wins."

Setting the Scene
- A competitive three games will give the Aces a chance to come together and put themselves in great position when they head back to Indiana early next week
- UE takes on East Carolina for the fourth time in program history; the last meeting came in the 2013 CIT in Greenville with the Pirates earning an 81-58 win
- It marked the final game for Colt Ryan, who left the program as its all-time scoring leader
- Sophomore Jawaun Newton is set to face his brother, Tristen, who is a freshman for the Pirates; it will mark the first time they have faced each other

Last Time Out
- In a knock down, grind it out type of game, SMU held off Evansville by a 59-57 final on Monday evening at the Ford Center
- The game was won on the glass as the Mustangs finished with a 47-25 rebounding edge, including 17-3 on the offensive glass
- Both teams shot under 38% for the game
- DeAndre Williams recorded 13 points and 8 boards to lead the Aces while Noah Frederking and Artur Labinowicz finished with 12 points apiece

What a debut
- DeAndre Williams picked up his second MVC Newcomer of the Week honor in as many weeks on Monday
- He is tied for second in the league with 17.8 points per game and ranks third with 8.5 rebounds
- Williams picked up the first double-double of his career with 23 points and 13 rebounds against IU Kokomo
- After posting 26 points in the win over Ball State, sophomore DeAndre Williams was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week on Nov. 11

Scouting the Opponent
- East Carolina enters the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase with a 1-3 mark after dropping a 77-57 game against Liberty on Saturday
- Jayden Gardner is the leader of the team, pacing the Pirates with 20.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game
- He ranks second on the team with 10 assists, three blocks and five steals
- Brandon Suggs averages 11.0 points for ECU
- Freshman Tristen Newton, brother of UE player Jawaun Newton, is third with 9.8 PPG
- He leads the Pirates with 14 assists and 6 steals
