EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Returning home to Meeks Family Fieldhouse, the University of Evansville women's basketball team dominated Chicago State, 76-42, in the final game on campus this decade on Wednesday evening.

Sophomore A'Niah Griffin led the Aces with 14 points, powered by two buckets and fouls late in the game. Redshirt junior Jada Poland also finished in double-figures with 10 points, while pullling down a team-high nine rebounds. For the Cougars, Tyeshia Bowers finished with a game-high 15 points.

Evansville jumped out to an early lead in the contest and never looked back. Just three-and-a-half minutes into the contest, the Aces held a 10-2 advantage as sophomore Anna Newman got to the basket for a layup. Chicago State got back within four soon after, but Evansville pulled away to take a 19-10 lead after the opening period.

The second quarter resembled the first through much of the early portions as Evansville methodically increased its lead to 15 with just over two minutes left in the half. The Aces closed the opening half on a 9-0 run, giving UE a 44-22 lead at the break.

A low scoring third period saw both teams combine for just 22 points, but Evansville controlled most of the scoring, building its lead as large as 30 in the quarter. In the final 10 minutes, Evansville cleared much of its bench and saw its lead swell to 35 twice, including on a three-pointer by sophomore Sydne Caddy, scoring the first points of her collegiate career, as Evansville secured the 34-point win.

The margin of victory is the largest for the Aces over an NCAA Division I opponent since an 86-46 blowout victory over Bradley on Jan. 12, 2015.

Evansville closes out 2019 on Sunday when the Aces travel to take on Miami (Ohio) at 1 PM in Oxford, Ohio.
