JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In its second tournament of the spring, the University of Evansville women's golf team opened the Benbow Invitational in a tie for seventh in the first round on Monday at Blue Sky Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Aces began the tournament with a first-round 323, placing Evansville in a tie for seventh with Western Illinois. Leading the tournament after the first day is Youngstown State, who finished with a team total of 298 in the first round.
Pacing Evansville, sophomore Sophia Rohleder recorded an opening round 77 to earn a tie for 10th after the first day. Rohleder sits just four strokes back of four golfers who are tied for first at one-over.
Tied for 14th after the opening round, senior Sydney Anderson carded a six-over 68, putting Anderson just one stroke off the pace set by Rohleder. Fellow senior Madison Chaney is tied for 25th after the first round, tallying a 78 in the first round of competition.

Competing as an individual, freshman Caitlin O'Donnell sits inside the top 30 in a tie for 29th after a first-round 82.
A pair of Aces sit 46th and 47th in the tournament as junior Lexie Sollman and freshman Alexa McMinn finished one stroke apart with an 88 and 89 in the first round.
Evansville takes to the course on Tuesday for the final round with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. at Blue Sky Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla.
