CHESTERTON, Ind. - Making a charge in the final round, the University of Evansville women's golf team moved up two spots on Tuesday to close the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Championships at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, Ind.

The Aces earned a seventh-place finish at the championships, improving their position by two places on the final day, finishing with a total of 930 (307-320-303). Capturing the MVC Championship was Southern Illinois, who finished the tournament with a three-round total of 905 (300-299-306), seven strokes in front of second-place UNI.

Leading Evansville was sophomore Sophia Rohleder, who closed the tournament with a final-round 77 for a total of 226 (74-75-77). Rohleder finished in a tie for fifth earning All-Conference honors and marking the best finish for an Ace since Kayla Katterhenry won the individual championship in 2017. Rohleder finished just six strokes off the pace set by MVC individual champion, Abby Cavaiani of Missouri State, who amassed a total of 220 (75-72-73), earning the individual medal in a playoff over UNI's Sydney Eaton.

Senior Sydney Anderson closed her collegiate career with the Aces' best round of the tournament. Anderson carded a one-over 73 on Tuesday, leaping Anderson inside the top 25, finishing in a tie for 23rd with a total of 233 (75-85-73). Matching her second round score, freshman Alyssa McMinn ended her first MVC Championship with a three-round total of 236 (74-81-81) in a tie for 29th.

Continuing her climb, senior Madison Chaney tallied a final-round 75, finishing in a tie for 35th with a total of 239 (84-80-75). Improving by six strokes for the second-straight round, Lexie Sollman was the fourth Ace to finish under 80 in the final round, carding a 78 on Tuesday for a three-round total of 252 (90-84-78), finishing in 47th.
