Last Week
- Weather limited last weekend's series against Bradley to two games as the Braves took both ends of Saturday's doubleheader
- In a pair of pitcher's duels, UE fell by finals of 3-1 and 4-2
- Evansville took an early 1-0 lead in game one thanks to Toni Galas; after earning a walk, she stole second and came all the way home on a Braves error
- The Braves plated two runs in the third and one in the sixth to clinch the win
- Emily Lockhart tossed the complete game for UE; the Aces offense had just one hit, which came off the bat of Eryn Gould
- Game two saw the Braves take a 2-0 edge in the third before UE tied it right up with a 2-RBI single by Gould
- BU added singles runs in the fourth and fifth to clinch the win
- Izzy Vetter went the distance in the circle; at the plate, Gould and Mea Adams recorded two hits apiece

- UE head coach Mat Mundell sits at 199 victories in his career with the next marking #200
- In six seasons at Illinois-Springfield, Mundell accumulated 117 wins and sits at 82 with the Aces
On a Streak
- Sophomore Eryn Gould had a great week for the Aces, posting a hit in all four games while batting .545 in the leadoff spot
- Gould recorded six hits in 11 at-bats while walking three times; she reached base 66.7% of the time and also hit a home run
- Overall, Gould is riding a 6-game hit streak since game two at SIU and is 8-of-17 in that time
- Gould checks in with a .279 average while starting all 38 games at catcher, second base and in the outfield
- She leads the team with seven home runs, eight doubles, 20 runs and 20 RBI
- In the March 9 win over Siena, Gould was 2-3 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI; her RBI tally was a career-high
- Gould was named the 2018 MVC Freshman of the Year while garnering All-MVC First Team accolades last year
Strong in the Circle
- Izzy Vetter and Emily Lockhart threw all 28 innings last week for the Aces and accumulated a 3.00 ERA
- Both pitched 14 innings apiece and gave up six earned runs; Vetter earned the win against Indiana State on Wednesday and struck out a total of 10 batters
Scouting the Opponent
- Missouri State enters the weekend with a 26-14 mark while sitting at 11-5 in Valley play
- Kyana Mason has had a strong season for the Bears, batting .408 with a team-high 26 runs, 53 hits, four doubles and four home runs
- Madison Hunsaker is batting .341 while Daphne Plummer stands at .321
