TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Recording a 13-stroke improvement in the second round, the University of Evansville rocketed up the leaderboard on the final day of competition at the Indiana State Spring Invite at the Country Club of Terre Haute in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Aces carded a 299 as a team on Monday, the second-lowest round of any team in the second round, helping move Evansville up three spots into a tie for sixth with a two-day total of 611 (312-299). Cal Baptist captured the team title at the invite, tallying a 578 (291-287) as a team, earning a seven-stroke advantage over second-place Youngstown State.
Leading the way for Evansville at the invite was senior Sydney Anderson, who remained consistent across the two days of competition. Anderson opened the tournament with a four-over 76 on Sunday, followed by a 77 in the final round for a tournament total of 143, placing Anderson in a tie for 18th. FInishing with one stroke of one-another were Alyssa McMinn, Sophia Rohleder, and Lexie Sollman who each scored massive improvements on the final day of action. McMinn closed the tournament with a total of 154 (80-74) after a six-stroke improvement on the final day, earning McMinn a share of 24th-place. Rohleder moved from a first-round 82 to a one-over 73 in the second round, giving Rohleder a total of 155, placing Rohleder in a tie for 29th. Sollman finished tied with Rohleder for 29th after dropping her score by five-strokes on the final day, finishing with a two-round total of 155.

Concluding the tournament in a tie for 40th, Madison Chaney recorded a final-round 81 to finish with a tournament-total of 158 (76-81). Remaining consistent in both rounds, Caitlin O'Donnell closed the invite with a round of 81 on Monday, placing O'Donnell in a tie for 50th with a total of 161 (80-81) as an individual.
Evansville is next in action at the 2019 MVC Championships on April 14-16 at Sand Creek Country Club in Valparaiso, Ind.
