Full MVC Release

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - After a sensational sophomore season, University of Evansville Track and Field student-athlete Anna Lowry has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team, it was announced in a release by the conference office.

Lowry earned the recognition for excelling both in the classroom and on the track as Lowry holds a 3.89 GPA in athletic training, while capturing two points for Evansville in the 2019 MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a sixth-place finish in the women's 5000 meters.

As a sophomore, Lowry owns or is a part of five program records, including the 1500 meters, 3,000 meter steeplechase, and 5000 meters in outdoor competition.

This year, the Missouri Valley Conference recognized 132 athletes named to the 2019 Track & Field Scholar-Athlete list for their performance in the classroom and in the sport of Track & Field. Ten student-athletes on the list maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA. 

Student-athletes were named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete team by meeting the following criteria and procedures: holding a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average, at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing, and placed in the top eight of an individual event or top three in a relay events at the Indoor or Outdoor Championships.
