EVANSVILLE, Ind. – One year ago, the Walter McCarty Leadership Academy was announced in conjunction with Old National Bank.  Today, that relationship goes even further with the announcement of the first Walter McCarty Leadership Day Camp with the Aces.
 
"The ONB THREE rang through the Ford Center and Meeks Family Fieldhouse all season, and now those funds are going to be used to create an unforgettable experience for some local kids in the community," said GM of Purple Aces Sports Properties Brandon McClish. "University of Evansville athletics are grateful to have a partnership with Old National Bank that allows them to use our platform to interact community involvement through the Walter McCarty Leadership Academy."
 
Through funds raised with the leadership academy, youth from various organizations in the Evansville area will be given the opportunity to experience an Aces basketball camp with both the men's and women's basketball programs. On June 28, campers including third, fourth, and fifth graders from the DREAM Center, the YMCA, and Boys and Girls Club in Evansville, will take part in a camp inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
 
Campers will have the opportunity to work with the Purple Aces' men's and women's basketball coaching staffs in a day that will include first-hand experience with Evansville student-athletes and numerous games and activities.  The experience will be held at the Aces basketball facilities on the UE campus.  Attendees will enjoy a full day that includes donuts and lunch along with activities that will make for a memorable experience.
