ST. LOUIS, Mo. - After a strong season on the field, University of Evansville baseball senior Nate Reeder was honored for his academic and athletic achievement, receiving Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honorable mention recognition, it was announced in a release by the conference office on Tuesday.

Reeder concluded his senior campaign as the top batter for the Aces, hitting .309, 10 doubles, five home runs, and 37 RBI, while holding a 3.60 GPA in math. The senior outfielder was one of 26 baseball student-athletes from the MVC who were honored, including 11 who earned honorable mention honors. Six league schools were represented on the first team, with an additional 11 student-athletes named to the honorable mention team. A total of 49 student-athletes were nominated for scholar-athlete honors. 

The criteria for the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team voting parallels the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) standards for Google Cloud Academic All-America voting. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at their institution.
