EVANSVILLE – In its final preseason test of 2019, the University of Evansville men's soccer team plays hots to Big Ten member Northwestern at 6 p.m. on Friday evening at Arad McCutchan Stadium.

• Evansville opened the preseason with a road contest at third-ranked Akron on Sunday, August 18.
• The Aces held the Zips scoreless through the first 35 minutes of action before Akron scored what would be its lone goal of the afternoon in the 38th minute on a score from Mani Austmann.
• As the first half waned, Evansville had an opportunity to equalize the match as Luis Aranda's shot was blocked inside the box.
• In the second half, Evansville continued to generate opportunities, the best of which came late in the match as Nicolas Likulia's header off a corner just missed the near post.
• Defensively, the Aces impressed in the second half, allowing just one shot on target for the Zips.

Previewing the Wildcats

• Northwestern closed the 2018 season with a 6-9-5 record, including wins over MVC opponents Valparaiso (1-0) and Loyola (1-0 OT).
• One of the most important pieces of the Wildcast attack returns for his senior season as midfielder Matt Moderwell looks to build off a five-goal season in 2018.
• Impressive goalkeeper Miha Miskovic is back for Northwestern after recording eight shutouts a season ago, the highest mark in the Big Ten and ninth-best in the nation.
• The Wildcats have also played one exhibition already, taking on Green Bay on Monday in Evanston, Ill.
