EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In what is setting up to be one of the biggest weekends in University of Evansville volleyball history, the Purple Aces are set for three Missouri Valley Conference matches in a span of four days.
Â
UE is set to face Valparaiso on Friday before welcoming Loyola on Saturday and Southern Illinois on Monday inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.Â
Â
Saturday's 4 p.m. match with the Ramblers caps off a UE Homecoming doubleheader, which will start at 1 p.m. when the Aces men's basketball team takes on Mount St. Joseph in an exhibition contest at the Ford Center.
Â
Following the basketball game, the first 400 fans who present their men's basketball ticket stub at Meeks Family Fieldhouse for the volleyball match will receive one free admission to the contest. This promotion is ONLY good at the door on Saturday prior to the match.
Â
For the matches on both Friday and Saturday, fans can receive $2 off admission if they wear a Halloween costume. Youth volleyball players receive a free ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket Friday and Saturday as well.
Â
Through its first six home contests in the fall, Evansville has a perfect 6-0 record while winning each contest by a 3-0 final. Should the Purple Aces earn a win over Valpo on Friday, it would match the best home start in program history at 7-0. The only other season this was accomplished came in 1981. Evansville heads into the weekend with a 16-4 overall mark while posting a 6-3 Valley record through its first nine matches.
Â
For the first time since joining the MVC in 1994, the Aces have won six conference matches in a row. Prior to the current stretch, the longest MVC win streak came in 1998 when the Aces won four in a row.
