EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville track and field team starts the outdoor season at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic at the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex on March 19-20, hosted by Southern Illinois.

• The Bill Cornell Spring Classic begins at 2 p.m. CT on Friday with men's and women's discus throw. Day two will begin at 10 a.m. CT with men's javelin before track events starting at 12 p.m. CT.
• The Purple Aces will compete in an outdoor meet for the first time in 679 days, after the 2020 season was canceled. Last time the Aces competed at the Bill Cornell Invite Anna Lowry won in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:47.65, breaking the program record for the first time, including a final lap time of 1:22.05.
• Lowry finished the indoor season by becoming the first UE track and field student-athlete to win an event in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship by taking the title in the 5K in 17:06.02, winning the event by nine seconds. 
• Trey Riggs had a stong prefomance at the MVC indoor championship in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing 8th in the event a new school record of 8.23. Riggs was also a part of the 7^th place finishing 4x400-meter race with teammates, Brendon Smith, Ian Albers and Jackson McPheeters, coming in at 3:29.11.
