CARBONDALE, Ill. – The University of Evansville track and field team had a big finish to its season on Sunday in the second and final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.

The Purple Aces men's team scored a program-high 26 points for eighth place across 10 teams with big performances from its relay teams, sophomore sprinter Raymond Felton III (Houston / Clear Brook HS) and senior mid-distance runner Adam Oulgout (St. Paul, Minn. / Central HS). UE women's team finished tied for 11th with Valparaiso as neither team recorded a point in the final day of competition. But both teams set multiple new PRs and program records on Sunday both on the track and in the field.

SPRINTS & RELAYS
In the first track event of the day for the Aces the men's 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Connor Shin (Bloomington, Ind. / Bloomington North HS), junior José Ocampo (Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico), freshman Myles Terry (Evansville, Ind. / North HS), and Felton III set a new program record in the event at 40.85 seconds. The team finished fifth for the highest relay finish of the weekend for UE.

It was then Felton III's time to shine as the only individual sprinter on Sunday for Evansville. Felton III finished on the podium in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash to score a combined 12 points for the Aces. Felton III is the first UE runner to have a podium finish in either the 100-meter or the 200-meter dash at conference since the event was run in yards in the 1970s. Felton III ran a program record 10.51 seconds and 21.07 seconds in the two events to further etch his name into the Evansville history books.

The Aces sprinters finished off the day with the men's 4x400-meter relay in the second to last event of the weekend. UE's team of Felton III, Terry, Shin, and sophomore Cedrik Flipo (Beloeil, Quebec, Canada) broke another program record with a PR of 3:15.90 to place sixth in the event and earn Evansville's final three points.

MID-DISTANCE
The Aces only competed in one mid-distance event on Sunday afternoon. Senior Adam Oulgout finished just one hundredth of a second behind his PR in the qualifying round on Saturday at 1:50.80. Oulgout placed fifth in the event to add four points to UE's total score.

DISTANCE
Sophomores Samuel Lea (Worcester, England) and Avery Stephens (Newburg, Ind. / Castle HS) ran the only distance event of the afternoon for Evansville with the 5K races. Lea finished the men's event in 14:43.89 for a 12th place finish. While Stephens ran the women's event with a finish of 18:33.72.

THROWS
The Aces throwers had a big final day at the MVC Outdoor Championships. Freshman Emma Bertel (Franklin, Ind. / Franklin Community HS) broke the women's shot put record with a PR of 11.60 meters. While in the men's hammer freshman Beau Baldwin (Mount Vernon, Ind. / Mt. Vernon HS) threw for 44.17 meters for a new PR.

UE wrapped up its day in the field with another broken record, this time from junior Gwen Darrah (Cleveland / Orange HS) in the women's hammer throw. Darrah set a new record with her first throw of the afternoon, putting the hammer at 48.15 meters.
