EVANSVILLE - After a fourth-place finish at the 2020-21 MVC Championships, University of Evansville senior Anna Lowry has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team, it was announced in a release from the Conference office on Wednesday.

Lowry finished the championship 5k in a time of 17:35.6, while capturing all conference honors for the second-straight season. The Taylorville, Ill. native picks-up her second-straight scholar-athlete honor after accumulating a 3.79 GPA in athletic training.

Scholar-Athlete honors require athletes to meet performance standards, as they must finish among the first 20 runners at the conference championship and hold at least a cumulative 3.3 GPA and be a sophomore in athletic and academic standing to earn a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete team. 

29 women's and men's student-athletes met the criteria. Both Elite 17 Award Recipients are represented on the two teams. Loyola had the most on the women's side with five women, while Illinois State had the most on the men's side with six.
