CARBONDALE, Ill.- The Purple Aces women's swimming and diving team rounded out their season Friday at the Missouri Valley Conference championships.

Sarah Jahns started the day out strong with a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with time of 2:01.34. The time tied her 2020 record in the event. Iryna Tsesiul also competed in the event and finished in fourteenth (2.03.68), setting the third-place school record.

Sage Moore set the UE school record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:17.74. She placed fifth at the meet. Allison McDonald swam in the same event placing eleventh (2:24.60), earning tenth in the record book.

Jessie Steele also put her name in the books in the 100-yard freestyle. She placed fourth in the event with a time of 51.02, earning her fifth in the books.

Maya Cunningham had another good day placing ninth in the 200-yard butterfly. Her time of 2:05.54 moved her up a spot to fourth place in the record book. Kara Steward came in sixteenth in the event (2:09.83).

The 400-yard freestyle relay, swam by Alexa Markl, Tsesiul, Emily Vasquez, and Steele, came in seventh with a time of 3:30.24.

Maggie Franz led the divers with a seventh-place finish in the three-meter dive with a score of 209.20.

The Aces placed sixth in the meet with a score of 328.50. Missouri State took the title with 929.50 points.
