Final Results
CARBONDALE, Ill. – The University of Evansville track and field team wrap up the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship, Sunday in Carbondale, Ill.
Michael Boots finished in 11
th place in the men's discus throw at 48.60-meters, less than a meter away from scoring position. Teammates Zach Dove (44.3m) and Andrew Schler (33.53m) placed 16
th and 21
st respectively.
The day started on the track with the 4x100-meter relay. On the women's side, teamed by Taiza Alexander, Skyler Tucker, Julie Burkholder and Monica Watkins, finishing in ninth at 50.18. The men finished in seventh place at 42.25, ran by Brendon Smith, Greg King, Trey Riggs and Geordan Blades.
The Purple Aces also posted times in the 4x400-meter relay with the women, teamed by Haley Dean, Caitlin Kehler, Kylee Peck and Sam Weldon, ran the event in 4:13.12 and the men, teamed by Brendon Smith, Ian Alberts, Trey Riggs and Peter Epur, finished the event in 3:25.56.
As a team the women finished in ninth place with 11 points, while the men finished in eighth with 13.33 points.
Evansville will await the NCAA Regional Selections which will be announced next week.
