EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville track and field program placed four student-athletes on the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team, announced by the conference office.

Highlighting the Aces on the scholar-athlete team is senior distance runner Anna Lowry. The athletic training major earns the honor for after an historic season and a 3.79 grade point average.
During the indoor championship Lowry crushed the 5,000-meter final, taking first in the event by nine seconds. Lowry's 17:06.02 performance earned her the honor of being the first UE track and field athlete to win a MVC Conference Championship.
Lowry made history again at the outdoor championship, taking home the 10,000-meter championship, which marked the first outdoor title for the Purple Aces in program history. Lowry made a move around two Loyola runners halfway through the race to earn the conference championship. Lowry finished the 10K in 34:46.70, which was 0.56 seconds ahead of the next runner.

Justus Donaldson broke the program record in outdoor javelin, capturing second place. Donaldson earned all-conference honors and earned scholar-athlete recognition with a 3.4 GPA in Logistics and supply chain management.

Once again earning scholar-athlete honors is Ian Alberts. The senior holds a 4.0 GPA in Biology. Alberts placed seventh in the indoor pole vault with a 4.51-meter mark, while taking eighth place in the outdoor pole vault event at 4.42-meters.

Trey Riggs finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles during the indoor championship, with a new school record of 8.23, which earns him scholar-athlete honors with his 3.5 GPA in civil engineering.
Student-athletes were named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete team by meeting the following criteria and procedures: 3.3 cumulative grade-point average. At least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing. Placed in the top eight of an individual events or top three in a relay event at the Indoor or Outdoor Championships.
