ST. LOUIS - After a strong season along the backline, University of Evansville women's soccer junior defender Emilie Hill has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason First-Team, it was announced in a release by the Conference office on Tuesday morning.
An honorable mention selection in the spring, Hill recorded most of her time as a center back for the Purple Aces, while also finding the back of the net against Loyola to help earn her first career goal and the win over the Ramblers. Hill also played in all eight games, playing all but 10 minutes this season. As a member of the Aces backline, Hill helped Evansville finish inside the top three nationally in both goals-against average and shutout percentage.
Evansville opens the regular season on Thursday at Bellarmine before coming home to face Belmont on Sunday at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
