TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Two weeks after hosting the Evansville Opener, the University of Evansville men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Saturday at the John McNichols Invite, hosted by Indiana State, in Terre Haute, Ind.

Saturday's meet begins at 8 AM with the men's 8k race, followed by the women's 5k at 8:45 AM at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. The women's race features Ball State, DePauw, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Huntington, Indiana, Indiana State, Indiana Wesleyan, Lansing CC, Madonna, Maryville (Mo.), Purdue, Rose-Hulman, Vincennes, and Western Michigan. The men's 8k features a similar field, including DePauw, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Huntington, Indiana, Indiana State, Indiana Wesleyan, Lansing CC, Madonna, Maryville (Mo.), Purdue, Rose-Hulman, and Vincennes. Live results for Saturday's two races is available here.

The Aces men's and women's teams each earned fifth place finishes at the Evansville Opener on Sept. 3 at Angel Mounds in Evansville. Peter Epur led Evansville's men with a 25th-place finish, while the women's team was led by Sam Weldon in 33rd.

A pair of freshman showed well at the opener for the Aces with Ellie Stewart and Kaitlyn Sansone finishing inside the top 40 in their first collegiate meets. On the men's side, freshman Adam Oulgout put on an outstanding performance in his opening collegiate event two weeks ago, keeping pace with Epur for much of the 8k before coming home in 30th, just 17 seconds back of Epur.

The John McNichols Invite also marks the return of fifth-year senior Anna Lowry to competition, who did not compete at the Evansville Opener. Lowry took fourth at the 2020-21 MVC Championships and enters a large field on Saturday with a six-race win streak on the line.
