ST. LOUIS - For the third time this season, University of Evansville freshman forward Nacho Diaz has been named Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced in a release from the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Returning to his scoring ways, Diaz got back on the board with a brace in an important MVC match over the weekend. Against Drake, Diaz scored twice and nearly recorded a hat trick, adding an assist in Evansville's 3-0 win over the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon. The brace brings Diaz's season goal total to nine, giving him a two-goal lead atop The Valley and putting him 13th in the nation in total goals. Diaz's nine goals on the year also outpace three NCAA DI teams this season.
