Box Score EVANSVILLE - On the road for the final time in MVC play, the University of Evansville men's soccer team could not keep pace with UIC in a 2-0 loss on Saturday night in Chicago, Ill.

"We were much better in the second half. In the first half, we struggled to get into the game and in the second half we created a few more chances and it's unfortunate that Tancred (Fadda) hit one off the crossbar and they went straight down and credit to the kid, he picked his head up and was able to get a ball in the back of the net from 45 to 50 (yards) out," said Aces head coach Marshall Ray. "We still had some other opportunities late and had another one from Jose (Vivas) off the bar, but all in all, we didn't do enough tonight to get a result. We've got to get ourself back together and get home to play Belmont and protect our home field and finish the regular season with a win."

The Aces tallied 10 shots on the night to 16 for the Flames with sophomore midfielder Jose Vivas recording the bulk of Evansville's chances, finishing with four shots on the night. Graduate goalkeeper Alex Vidizzoni faced five shots from the home side on the night, making three saves to push his season total to 51.

It was a quiet start to the night from a scoring standpoint in the first half as UIC recorded nine shots and the Aces tallied four in the opening stanza. Vidizzoni helped keep the match scoreless, making a pair of saves in what was a scoreless draw at the break.

UIC broke the deadlock 21 minutes into the second half, scoring courtesy of Paul Brauckmann to take the 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later, the Flames added a second goal as Josh Torres found the back of the net off an assist from Preston Huitron as UIC captured the 2-0 win.

Evansville returns home to close-out the regular season on Wednesday night at 6 PM against Belmont at Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville.
